Therapy for Children and Adolescents

Whether your child is getting in trouble or feeling troubled, I can help.

I help children and adolescents improve school performance, reduce arguing, make better choices, improve communication, reduce anxiety, manage anger appropriately, and feel better about themselves.

Is your child anxious or sad or just not themselves?

Are Sunday evenings a struggle because your child dreads going to school on Monday?

Does it seem like you’ve tried everything, yet your teen remains unmotivated and isn’t living up to their potential?

Does your child get teased or bullied or just have a hard time fitting in?

Are you worried about how your child is adjusting to a divorce or separation?

Are you tired of arguing with your teen?

Do you ever feel like you just want your loving, happy kid back?

If you answered yes to any of these questions, I can help!

Who I work with

I typically work with children and adolescents ages 8-18.

How We’ll Work Together

I use a combination of talk therapy and creative and play modalities to help develop rapport, promote expression of feelings, as well as to teach and practice coping skills.   The first session will be a joint session with parent and child together in order for me to get an understanding of the issues that brought you to therapy and to gather a thorough history.  For future sessions, I allow the child to decide whether they would like meet individually or if they would like to continue to meet with their parent.  Regardless of whether the parent joins in for the whole session, I always allow time for the parent to get and give updates about progress or concerns.
